Why We Work With Wool

We work with wool not only for its tactile qualities, but for the way it encourages a slower relationship with clothing. Naturally insulating and breathable, it responds to the body, to climate, and to our natural everyday movements.

Pieces designed to be re-worn, aired, repaired, and kept, fibres that evolve rather than deteriorate with time.

Rather than requiring constant washing, wool naturally resists odour and regulates moisture, allowing garments to be worn repeatedly between cleans. A gentle airing, a soft shake, attention to small marks before they settle, extend the life of both garment and fibre.

When washing becomes necessary, we suggest a thoughtful approach. Cold water. Mild detergents free from bleach and softeners. Air drying over heat. Care that preserves the integrity of the fabric rather than rushing against it.

Across our collections, we work with several wool varieties, each selected for a distinct quality and purpose.

The Wools We Use

Merino

Fine, breathable, and temperature regulating, merino wool offers softness without weight. Its moisture-wicking and odour-resistant properties make it ideal for everyday layering, while its lightweight warmth allows pieces to transition seamlessly between seasons.

Mohair

Mohair brings subtle texture and luminosity to winter dressing. Smooth and breathable, the fibre offers warmth while staying lightweight. Its soft handle makes it particularly comfortable for sensitive skin, creating knitwear that feels both elevated and effortless.

Alpaca

Alpaca is prized for its exceptional warmth and airy cloud-like softness. Naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to wind, it creates insulating layers without density or restriction. We are drawn to alpaca for the sense of comfort and quiet luxury it brings to colder months.

Cashmere

Exceptionally soft and lightweight, cashmere offers warmth with remarkable refinement. Sourced from the fine undercoat of cashmere goats, the fibre is insulating yet delicate in feel, designed for pieces intended to be worn closely and kept for years.

Caring for Wool

Proper care allows wool to soften, shape, and endure beautifully through wear.

Wear longer, wash less. Spot clean where possible. Air garments between wears. Choose gentle, natural detergents that preserve the fibre’s breathability and strength. Dry naturally, reshaping carefully by hand.

These small considerations extend the life of a garment considerably. and encourage a more mindful way of dressing.
